I thank all the members of the society for unanimously selecting me as a President and I am proud to follow the pathway of Glaucoma Society of India, which has been laid by Prof. N N Sood in 1991 and was successfully followed by eminent professionals.  Passing 16 successful years, the society has 386 professionals from different parts of the country as its members with it. 

The aim of the society would be to create awareness regarding glaucoma and to prevent blindness due to glaucoma.  Evaluating and training fellow general ophthalmologists to perform a comprehensive ophthalmic evaluation and equip themselves with basic glaucoma diagnostic techniques is one of the important goals. The society and their members should be able to spread the advancement of glaucoma and the new techniques to manage the glaucoma.  I sincerely feel that this will be possible only if all the members of the society co-ordinate to help us achieve these goals.

The detailed activities of the society would be available on the website and hope it will be useful to all the members and public as well.
